NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Ashmere Woods tied a single-game record with 21 rebounds and added 11 points and six assists to lead IU Southeast past UC-Clermont 76-60 on Saturday. Michelle Bauman had 21 rebounds vs Transylvania during the 1984-85 season.
The Grenadiers (7-6) snapped a two-game losing skid with the win. Heather Wheat and Kortney Woods each had 14 points, Megan Cureton had 11 and Briana Palmer and Danielle Betts each had 9 for IU Southeast.
The Grenadiers led by as many as 35 points in the second half.
Marissa Stutz led all scorers with 20 points for the Cougars. She also had 12 rebounds. Stacie Lee had 11 points and Ashley Keith had 10.
UC-Clermont (9-13) shot 26 percent from the field in the first half and they could not generate enough offense to get back in the game though the Grenadiers only shot 38 percent from the field in the game.
IU Southeast heads to Pittsburgh next weekend to take on Point Park on Saturday and Carlow University on Sunday.
