NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's basketball team dropped its second straight game to a KIAC opponent with a 101-77 loss to Asbury on Saturday.
The Eagles (14-7, 4-3 KIAC) were dominant on both sides of the ball. They shot 49 percent from the field and 63 percent (15-24) from three-point range.
Four Eagles scored in double figures. Trenia Barbee had 29 points, Laura Carroll had 20 and Lakin Griffith and Dorian Downs had 17 apiece.
Ashmere Woods had 23 points and six rebounds for the Grenadiers. Heather Wheat added 21 points, and Andrea Owen had 10 points for IU Southeast.
IU Southeast (10-9, 3-5 KIAC) shot 42 percent from the field but could not keep up with the three-point barrage from the Eagles. The Grenadiers shot just 20 percent (4-20) from behind-the-arc.
IU Southeast hosts Berea in game one of a doubleheader with the men's team at 5:30 on Tuesday.
