NEW ALBANY, Ind. – A cold-shooting day and too many turnovers sent IU Southeast to its second-straight loss as Asbury defeated IUS 67-51 Saturday on Homecoming.
Heather Wheat had 23 points in the loss. Mary Dye pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Grenadiers (17-11, 7-6 KIAC) committed 19 turnovers and Asbury capitalized by scoring 21 points off the miscues.
IU Southeast shot 15-of-51 from the field in the game and made just four three-pointers.
IU Southeast jumped out to a 10-0 lead and held Asbury scoreless for the first five minutes of the game. After that, Asbury outscored the Grenadiers 36-13 the rest of the half.
Asbury's bench outscored the Grenadiers 33-8.
IU Southeast hosts Cincinnati Christian Tuesday at 6 p.m.
