NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's tennis team picked up another impressive win Saturday, defeating Huntington 8-1.
The Grenadiers jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead by sweeping doubles action and dropped just three games in the process. The No. 1 doubles team of Nick Roby and Jacob Rankin won 8-3 while Jonathan James and Chris Braun cruised 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
IU Southeast picked up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles due to Huntington having only five eligible players.
In singles play, Roby won 6-4, 6-4 over Joseph Straznicky at No. 1 singles.
Positions 3-5 dropped just four games combined. Jonathan James won 6-1, 6-0, Jacob Rankin won 6-2, 6-0 and Bryson Mills won 6-0, 6-1.
IU Southeast opens conference play on March 18 when they host Alice Lloyd College at 1:30 p.m.
