RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Emmy Ralph had 27 points but it was not enough as No. 22 Rio Grande defeated IU Southeast 116-65 on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the 2022 River States Conference Women's Basketball Championship.

Lauren Lambdin had 13 points, Leah Miller added 11 and Alex Maher had 10 points and six rebounds in the loss.

Rio Grande shot 61 percent from the field in the contest and dominated on the glass 55-26 which led to 21 second-chance points.

After a tightly contested first quarter, the RedStorm pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Grenadiers 30=19. Emmy Ralph scored 12 of the Grenadiers' 19 points in the period.

Rio Grande (29-2) led 51-34 at halftime. Ralph had 18 of her 27 points in the first half for IU Southeast.

In the second half, the IU Southeast offensive attack struggled which allowed Rio Grande to race away and doom any chance of a comeback.

Ella Skeens had 30 points for Rio Grande and Hailey Jordan had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the win.
