The IU Southeast men's tennis dropped a 5-0 decision to Lawrence Tech on Friday and saw Huntington pull away late en route to a 5-2 loss to the Foresters on Saturday at the Doc Richards Classic.
On Friday, the Grenadiers lost the doubles point but Cade Burman and Michael Wright played a solid match and were leading 5-4 at the time the doubles point was clinched.
In singles, three out of the four matches went to third sets or tiebreaks. Eli Franks and Connor Mason each won their first sets before dropping the second sets of the matches and losing the tiebreaks 11-9 and 10-6, respectively.
On Saturday, Cade Burman and Connor Mason cruised 6-1 at No. 3 doubles but the Grenadiers dropped the doubles point.
In singles play, Caleb Harris won 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (6) and Eli Franks got a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (5) win. Brent Reynolds dropped a very close match at No. 2 singles. After winning the first set 6-4, he lost the second set 7-6(3) and dropped the third set tiebreaker 11-9.
IU Southeast travels to the University of Southern Indiana Tuesday.
