NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Linzie Wernert has been named the River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the RSC announced on Monday.
 
Wernert, a junior from Lanesville, Ind., put up great numbers for the Grenadiers this past week. She scored 43 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, added seven steals and blocked three shots in three games.
 
In a 78-40 win over Miami-Middletown, Wernert scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, and added two steals and block.
 
In a loss to No. 3 Campbellsville, Wernert had six points, four rebounds, and three steals.
 
In a loss to No. 2 Bethel, Wernert had her most impressive showing. She had 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in an all-around performance.
 
On the season, Wernert is averaging 14.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2 assists per game.
