NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Sophomore infielder
Kaitlyn Chitwood was named River States Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
The Louisville native hit .800 (8-10) with one triple and three RBI this past weekend at the NAIA Leadoff Classic.
In her first game of the tournament against Trinity Christian College, Chitwood went 1-1 with one RBI.
In the Grenadier's game against Calumet College of St. Joseph, Chitwood went 3-3 with one RBI and scored two runs.
In the next game against Mount Mary University, Chitwood went 3-3 with one triple, an RBI and scored three times.
In the final game of the weekend against Judson University, Chitwood finished by going 1-3 and scoring two runs.
Chitwood is starting her season off with eight hits, one stolen base and a .800 hitting percentage.
