NEW ALBANY, Ind. - IU Southeast women's golf finished second at the Alice Lloyd College Spring Invitational this weekend.
Rachel Shaffer had the best score on the women's team, finishing third in the individual standings. Shaffer shot a 77 in round one and an 81 in round two with a final score of 158 (+14), highlighted by three birdies in round one.
Finishing one spot behind Shaffer was Emma Rowland, who shot a 76 in round two. Rowland's score in round two was a nine stroke imrpovement from round one. Rowland recorded twelve pars and a birdie in round two. Lydia Hines came in 15th place, Caity Dailey came in 18th, and Brittany Fogle came in 23rd.
As a team, the Grenadiers shot a 691 (+115) and finished second of the five teams at the tournament. IU Southeast climbed one spot in the standings and improved their team score by five strokes from round one to round two.
IU Southeast women's golf will be back in action this weekend in Versailles, Ky., for the Midway Eagle Invitational hosted by Midway University.
