NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Officials of the River States Conference (RSC) announced Monday that IU Southeast senior Brendan Whalen is this week's RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The announcement comes a day after Whalen's excellent pitching performance during Sunday's 13-0 road win over KCU. The senior righthander from Grayslake, Ill., improved to 5-0 on the mound, and it was his first complete game of the season.
Whalen pitched 9.0 innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and recorded 13 strikeouts. Whalen's 9.0 innings of work and 13 strikeouts were both career bests, and his two hits allowed are his fewest since allowing one hit to Northwestern Ohio on Feb. 14th, 2025.
The announcement from the RSC is Whalen's second Pitcher of the Week honor this season, with the first coming on March 9th.
IU Southeast baseball will be back in action at home Tuesday evening for a 5:00 p.m. game against Lindsey Wilson.
