DANIELS, W.Va. - Grenadier men's golf finished in sixth place at the River States Conference Men's Preview. The tournament was two rounds and took place at The Resort at Glade Springs golf course, a par-72 course.
Blaine Hamilton had IU Southeast's highest individual finish after coming in tied for ninth. Blaine's best round came in round one, where he birdied the last four holes en route to a –2 score. Rossi Hamilton finished tied for 13th. Rossi Hamilton recorded five birdies in round two and improved his score by three strokes in round two.
Johnathan Clifton finished tied for 30th and Evan Trester finished four spots behind Clifton. Zane Hammond shaved three strokes off his round one score and finished tied for 48th.
As a team, the Grenadiers came in sixth place out of the nine River States Conference teams present. The Grenadiers struggled in round two, nearly doubling their team score and dropping three spots on the team leaderboard from round one to round two.
In the advanced stats, the Grenadiers finished third in par four team scoring, shooting an average of 4.37. The Grenadiers recorded 17 birdies, tying them for fifth, and recorded 93 pars, good for fifth.
Coach Barry Gulley's team will be back in action in Kokomo, Ind., for the Crimson Classic hosted by IU Kokomo on October 10th and 11th.
