NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Indiana University Southeast baseball team rewrote the record books today with a win in the first game of a doubleheader with Berea College. The Grenadiers defeated Berea 14-5 to extend its consecutive win streak record to 12 games. With the win, the Grenadiers slash the 11-game consecutive win streak that they set during last season.
The 12-game record did not last long as IU Southeast extended it to 13 games during the second game of the doubleheader with a 21-11 victory over Berea. IU Southeast trailed 11-0 before scoring an impressive 21 straight runs to end the game in the fifth inning.

Zach Maupin hit a two-out three-run homerun in the bottom of the 3
rd inning to begin the offensive assault for IU Southeast in the second game of the doubleheader.
Adam Lipke (3-1) and
Brandon Clemmons (1-0) both earned wins on the mound today for the Grenadiers.
The Grenadiers are currently 15-7 overall and are off to their most impressive start in recent history. IU Southeast is also now an undefeated 2-0 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) standings and is currently tied with Asbury College for first place in the regular-season standings.
With today's wins, the IU Southeast baseball program is now and undefeated 12-0 at home this season at the Koetter Sports Baseball Complex.
IU Southeast Head Coach Ben Reel is proud of his team's effort, "These guys do not just show up in the spring and win 13 consecutive games. It takes a lot of hard work in the classroom, on the field, in the weight room and in the community. All of the hard work adds up to a championship team and we have some great kids who work very hard."
"Our players are dedicated to this program and most importantly to each other," said Reel. "They do not want to let each other down and are able to use that to our advantage through hard work and execution."
The Grenadiers are combining for a .294 batting average and have outscored opponents 147-114 in 22 games.
The Grenadiers will continue KIAC conference play on Saturday when the team looks to remain undefeated at home and in the conference against Berea College. The doubleheader with the visiting Mountaineers will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. All games will be played at the Koetter Sports Baseball Complex on the campus of IU Southeast in New Albany.
