NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Vincent Tornincasa has stepped down as head coach of IU Southeast baseball, athletic director Tod Bannister announced Wednesday.  

Tornincasa will be joining the baseball staff at Bellarmine University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.  

"We would like to thank Vinnie for his leadership of the IU Southeast baseball program, first as an assistant and then as head coach this past season," Bannister said. "IU Southeast baseball is a true community treasure, and Vinnie helped uphold the tradition and excellence that makes it so special. We wish Vinnie the very best as he continues his coaching journey." 

In just one season at the helm of IU Southeast baseball, Tornincasa led the team to one of their most successful campaigns in program history. The Grenadiers finished the season 44-16 overall and 22-5 in River States Conference play. 

The Grenadiers captured the 2026 RSC Regular Season Championship, then went 4-0 en route to an RSC Tournament Title. Tornincasa was named Coach of the Year, and IU Southeast had seven all-conference selections.  

In the NAIA Opening Round, the Grenadiers went 3-0 and advanced to the 2026 Avista NAIA World Series, their third World Series appearance in six years. 

The Grenadiers won their first two games at the World Series, including a 5-0 victory over the eventual champions, Tennessee Wesleyan. IU Southeast finished the season ranked No. 5 in the country in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll of the 2026 season.  

Assistant coach Tanner Bradley will act as interim head coach. A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
