NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast women's tennis team dominated Berea College en route to an 8-1 victory on Sunday in the Grenadiers' 2012 home opener.

The Grenadiers (2-3,2-0 KIAC) got off to a fast start with convincing wins in the doubles portion of that match. The No.1 doubles team of Katie Walsh and Katherine Clark defeated Christine Crawford and Katherine Spears 8-2. Ashley Bunch/Maddie Ikerd defeated Katie Fawley/Miranda Fawley 8-1 and Katie Morrison/Brittney Coan defeated Kaila Noland/Ashley Logan 8-0.

Every Grenadier singles player won their match except for Katie Walsh in No. 1 singles who dropped her match to Christine Crawford 7-5, 6-2. The Grenadiers dropped just 11 singles games combined in that portion of the match as Berea dropped to 1-2 overall and in conference play.

IU Southeast hosts KIAC newcomer Carlow University next Saturday at 10 a.m.. and then heads back to non-conference action when the Grenadiers host Bellarmine University next Sunday at 1 p.m..
