Fuller's Shutout Keeps Grenadiers Alive In KIAC Tournament

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Elliot Fuller, the 2013 KIAC Pitcher of the Year, threw a complete game, six-hit shutout as the Grenadiers staved off elimination in the 2013 KIAC Baseball Tournament Friday night.

After dropping the opening game of the day 10-4 to Point Park University. The Grenadiers needed a win to stay alive in the tournament.

IU Southeast (27-26) loaded the bases in the fourth inning when A.J. Doyle drew a walk to make it 1-0. The Grenadiers would add another run in the fifth when Brad Walker scored as the Bearcats tried to pick a runner off first. Walker slid in ahead of the tag to put the Grenadiers up two.

Fuller would cruise the rest of the way and send IU Southeast to rematch with Point Park on Saturday at 1 p.m.

IU Southeast and Point Park have met five times this season including the KIAC Tournament. Point Park leads the series 3-2. Three out of the five decisions were decided by a total of six runs.
