NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's tennis team picked up its first dual match victory of the year with an 8-1 win over Franklin College on Sunday.

IU Southeast (1-0) picked up two of three points during the doubles portion of the match at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Alex Martin and Jacob Rankin defeated Alex Hammer and Ryan Hammer 8-4 and Chris Braun and Bryson Mills rolled past Robby Woehrle and Kyle Sauley 8-0. Nicky Roby and Trent Wallace fell 8-4 to Ethan Caldwell and Luke Snyder.

The Grenadiers won every singles match in straight sets. Roby defeated Caldwell 6-2, 6-3, Wallace defeated Alex Hammer 6-4, 6-4. Rankin defeated Snyder 6-3, 6-4, Mills defeated Woehrle 6-3, 6-0, Martin defeated Evan Pierle 6-0, 6-1 and Braun defeated Sauley 6-3, 6-1.
