NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's tennis team rolled past Alice Lloyd 9-0 on Friday afternoon, and clinched the Grenadiers' 16th-straight regular season KIAC title.
With the Eagles only having four players available, IU Southeast picked up three quick points. Then Maddie Ikerd and Katie Walsh won 8-0 over Morgan Castle and Ashley Hart at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 doubles, Whitney Batliner and Dana Frank rolled to an 8-0 victory over Ashley Cornett and Katelyn Rose to clinch the match.
In singles, Haley Jones won 6-0, 6-1 over Ashley Cornett at No. 1 singles. Dana Frank won 6-0, 6-1 against Katelynn Rose at No. 2 singles. Katherine Clark won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 against Morgan Castle and Katie Morrison defeated Ashley Hart 6-0, 6-0.
IU Southeast moves to 6-1 and 4-0 in conference play.
The Grenadiers' 16-straight conference titles are the longest current streak in NAIA tennis. Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) has won 15 in a row and will compete in the spring for a 16th championship.
