NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team lost to Campbellsville University 7-1 on Wednesday.
The Grenadiers (13-10) fell behind 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning but cut the lead in half in the bottom of the frame.
Jarret Young led off the inning with a double. Josh Beams hit an RBI single with the bases loaded to score Young but one run was all that they could get across.
The Tigers added five runs in the top of the sixth to put the game away. They were aided by four wild pitches by Grenadier pitching as well as three walks.
IU Southeast walked seven batters in the game.
Chris Kemp went 2-for-4 in the loss. Trent Simpson took the loss for IU Southeast to move his record to 1-1.
The Grenadiers head to Asbury on Friday and Saturday.
