NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women's tennis team dropped its season opening match to Hanover on Tuesday afternoon 6-3.

The Grenadiers (0-1) opened the match by taking No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Katie Walsh and Alexis Applegate defeated Mackenzie Spicer and Tori Schwartz 8-5 and Maddie Ikerd and Dana Frank defeated Susie Winternheimer and Alana Feeley 8-6.

In singles, Dana Frank won a tight No. 1 singles contest 7-6 (10-3), 6-4, but the Grenadiers were swept in the rest of the matches.

IU Southeast heads to Oakland City Saturday to face Rose-Hulman and the host Lady Oaks.
