No. 19 IU Southeast Completes Sweep of WVU Tech With 8-2 Win

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team completed the sweep of West Virginia Tech with an 8-2 win on Sunday.

West Virginia Tech (3-11, 0-3 RSC) opened the scoring in the top of the first when Sean Crosby singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Daniel Torres.

IU Southeast (10-6, 3-0 RSC) answered in the bottom of the frame when Nolan Rogers stole third and then scored on a passed ball.

The Golden Bears took the lead again in the top of the fourth when Jacob Reimold recorded an RBI single but Korbin Williams responded in the bottom of the inning with a solo home run to left for his third home run of the year.

IU Southeast blew the game open with a four-run sixth inning all with two outs. After Clay Woeste walked and Nolan Rogers was hit, Daniel Brescia and Reyni Olivero each had RBI singles. Then Korbin Williams cleared the bases with a two-run double to give the Grenadiers a 7-2 lead.

Starter Jack Wohlert worked five innings and gave up six hits and two runs, one earned. He walked two and struck out four.

Korbin Williams was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the win. Josh Beams, Daniel Brescia and Tyler Warmath each added two hits.

IU Southeast hosts Milligan College Tuesday at 2 p.m.
