MASON, Ohio – The IU Southeast men's tennis team advanced to the River States Conference Men's Tennis Championship with a 5-0 win over No. 3 seed IU East in the RSC Semifinals on Friday.
The Grenadiers (9-9) led 3-0 after doubles action. No. 1 doubles pairing of Garrett Fensler and Brock Winchell earned an 8-4 win. Dane Baldwin and Bradley Cross cruised to an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles and Daulton Fensler and Sam Venter won 8-6.
In singles play, Dane Baldwin defeated Hunter Wilson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Brock Winchell clinched the match at No. 3 singles with a convincing 6-3, 6-0 win over Keaton Akers.
The Grenadiers will face No. 1 seed Asbury University Saturday at 1 p.m. in the RSC Championship. The two teams meet for the championship for the seventh year in a row.
