NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The Grenadiers opened conference play with a 7-2 win over Midway on Friday. In doubles action, Brock Winchell and Daulton Fensler started off strong with a 3-0 lead but were unable to capitalize falling 8-6. The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions did not drop a game with both winning by a score of 8-0.

With a 2-1 lead going into singles play the Grenadiers won 2-6 singles without dropping a set. Freshmen Bradley Cross and Dane Baldwin did not drop a single game winning 6-0, 6-0. In a tightly contested No. 1 singles match Garrett Fensler lost the first set 6-3 but fought back to win his second set 6-3 before eventually falling 6-2 in the third.

The Grenadiers (4-7, 1-0 RSC) will travel to Ohio Christian on Monday and host Alice Lloyd on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
