NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's tennis team hosted No. 9 Campbellsville at the Southern Indiana Tennis Center on Saturday night, falling 8-1.
After trailing 5-0 at No. 1 doubles Garrett Fensler/TJ Brady came back to win in a tiebreaker. Trailing 2-1 after doubles play the top three singles spots competed at a high level but ultimately dropped all three matches. It took Campbellsville three sets to win at No. 1 singles and two tiebreak sets to be victorious at No. 2. With the match already clinched the Tigers were able to close out the rest of singles play with straight set victories at 4, 5 and 6 singles.
"Our men competed very hard tonight and were able to push a tough opponent," head coach Joe Epkey said. "I was very pleased with our effort from start to finish."
Up next for the Grenadiers they take on another tough opponent @ Division 1 Wright State on Friday, March 1st
