LEXINGTON, Ky. - The IU Southeast men's tennis team opened conference play at the Lexington Tennis Club with a convincing 8-1 victory over Midway.

The Grenadiers came out ready to play taking control 3-0 after doubles play with 8-3, 8-4 and 8-3 wins. The strong play continued into singles action with straight set wins at positions 2-6. The only loss on the day came at No. 1 singles with Garrett Fensler losing his first set 6-7(5) before fighting back to win the second set 7-6(7) eventually falling 10-5 in the third set tiebreak.

"I was very proud of how our team came out ready to compete today and take care of business. I look forward to seeing what the team can do as we continue to improve on a daily basis." Coach Epkey said.

Up next the Grenadiers will travel to Hanover Saturday March, 16th for a 2 p.m. start.
