CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The IU Southeast baseball team rolled past Asbury 9-0 in the River States Conference Baseball Championship on Friday.
IU Southeast (34-17) opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning when Derek Wagner scored in a wild pitch. The Grenadiers doubled their lead in the third when Wagner singled to score Maloon who had doubled.
Wagner came through again the fifth inning when he hit his third home run in two days. This time a two-run home run to left for his eighth home run of the year.
Tyler Mills hit his third home run of the year to left in the seventh after Jordan Branz recorded a RBI double.
Chas Adams got the win. He worked seven hitless innings and only walked a pair while striking out eight.
Wagner finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored and Brody Tanksley had two hits in the win.
IU Southeast will face the loser of the Point Park/IU Kokomo contest at 3 p.m. Saturday in an elimination game.
