NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast baseball team is ranked No. 12 in this week's Perfect Game NAIA Baseball Rankings, the final poll of the abbreviated 2020 season.
The Grenadiers (18-1) are the lone River States Conference representative in the rankings. IU Southeast ranked in the top-10 in the NAIA in 11 different statistical categories, including No. 2 in fielding percentage (.978) and No. 3 in batting average (.362). Sophomore shortstop Daunte Decello finished the season ranked No. 5 in the nation with a .519 batting average and starter Hunter Kloke ranked No. 9 with five wins.
The NAIA canceled the 2020 spring sports season on Monday in response to the growing COVID-19 outbreak. No spring sport student-athlete will be charged a season of competition. Any spring sport student-athlete who was enrolled full-time in 2020 will be awarded two additional semester terms of attendance or the equivalent.
