NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's tennis team fell just short of Asbury on a hot Saturday afternoon at the IU Southeast tennis courts.

The Grenadiers were unable to win a spot in doubles as Asbury took all three positions giving them the 1-0 lead heading into singles action. Brock Winchell and Sebastian Burman fell at #1 and #2 singles giving Asbury a 3-0 lead but Cade Burman got the Grenadiers a point winning his match at #3 singles.

Trailing 3-1 with the bottom three singles positions taking the court the Grenadiers would need each remaining match to pull off the upset. Jerid Inman was unable to defeat his opponent at #4 singles which gave the Eagles the last needed point to clinch the match. With the match decided IU Southeast would continue to fight taking the bottom two spots with Connor Mason winning 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 at #5 and Caleb Harris winning 6-3, 6-4 at the #6 position.

With the loss the Grenadiers are now 3-1 in conference play. Next up the Grenadiers travel to IU South Bend on April 2nd.
