HANOVER, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's tennis team traveled to Hanover College Sunday and defeated the Panthers 7-2.
The Grenadier men's tennis team played home team rules (NCAA DIII) with all three doubles positions counting as a point and played to 8.
After doubles play IU Southeast led 2-1 with identical 8-6 wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Heading into singles play the Grenadiers would need three singles wins to clinch the match but instead rattled off five singles victories only dropping No. 3 singles on way to a decisive 7-2 victory.
"Our men played a solid match against a Hanover team that came ready to play," head coach Joe Epkey said. "There was plenty of tension throughout the match but in the end our guys kept their composure and were able to get the job done."
Next up for the Grenadiers they travel to Marian on Friday, March 12.
