NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Brody Tanksley and Clay Woeste each homered and Trevor Reynolds scattered five hits in five innings as No. 20 IU Southeast defeated Lindsey Wilson 8-3 on Wednesday.
Brody Tanksley opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when he hit a solo home run to left for his 13th home run of the year.
IU Southeast (29-13) added a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Marco Romero was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on passed ball and scored on RBI single by John Ullom.
In the fifth, Matt Monahan doubled to right and scored on a RBI single by Romero.
The Grenadiers put the game away with a four-run sixth inning. Ethan Shafer singled to center to score Tyler Mills. Clay Woeste followed with a three-run home run to left, his fourth home run of the year.
IU Southeast capped off the scoring with a run in the seventh. John Ullom walked and stole second and scored on a RBI double by Drew Hensley.
Trevor Reynolds (5-1) worked five innings for his fifth win of the season. He allowed one run on five hits, walked one and struck out two.
Clay Woeste, Matt Monahan, Brody Tanksley and Marco Romero each had two hits in the win.
IU Southeast travels to West Virginia Tech on Saturday and Sunday.
