Brock Winchell and Cade Burman Named To RSC All-Conference Teams

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- The 2021 All-River States Conference Men's Tennis Teams & Awards were unveiled Thursday night from the Top Seed Tennis Club. On the eve of the RSC Men's Tennis Championship, the All-RSC First & Second Teams, the RSC Men's Tennis Champions of Character Team and the individual awards were handed out.

Senior Brock Winchell was named to the RSC First Team. Freshman Cade Burman was named to the RSC Second Team and Michael Wright was the team's Champion of Character representative.

Winchell has been named to the All-Conference team in each of his four full season played at IU Southeast and has been a first team selection three times.

Cade Burman was named to the second team after his first full season of competition with the Grenadiers.

Asbury (Ky.) University, the RSC regular-season champion and tournament No. 1 seed headlined the awardees. Choopat Suvimolstean was named the RSC Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Teammate Gregorio Ingles was voted RSC Men's Tennis Newcomer of the Year and joined Suvimolstean on the six-player All-RSC First Team.

Asbury head coach Jarred Miller was voted RSC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year. That was after leading the Eagles to another conference regular season title at 6-0 RSC and the tournament No. 1 seed. Asbury is 8-1 overall. The Asbury team was also recognized on Thursday night for its regular-season championship.

Suvimolstean led the All-RSC First Team posting a record of 16-2 on the year. That was an even record of 8-1 in both singles and doubles for the senior from Bangkok, Thailand. Ingles, a sophomore from Valencia, Spain, piled up a record of 17-1 overall -- 9-0 singles and 8-1 doubles -- in his first year in the conference.

The All-RSC First Team also included one player each from four others schools with Teodor Zlatan from Oakland City (Ind.) University, Julian Lopez from Midway (Ky.) University, Brock Winchell from Indiana University Southeast and Francisco Faundez from Indiana University East.

The All-RSC Second Team featured one player from each of the six postseason qualifying teams. For the complete list of honorees, see below.

Also named was the RSC Men's Tennis Champions of Character Team. One member of each team was nominated by their head coach as the one who best exhibits the NAIA five core character values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
