Grenadiers Roll Past Hanover 6-1

HANOVER, Ind. - The IU Southeast men's tennis team defeated Hanover College 6-1 on Thursday.

The Grenadiers (4-4) picked up victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn the doubles point. Brent Reynolds and Caleb Harris won 7-6 (6) at the top doubles position and Noah Neuhauser and Eli Franks won 6-3.

In singles play, the Grenadiers rolled at the top three singles positions. Caleb Harris won 6-2, 6-1 over Joey Keal. Eli Franks defeated Jedrek Brodzki 6-2, 6-2 and Brent Reynolds won 6-1, 6-1 over Pablo Gallart.

Connor Mason won 6-1, 7-6 (3) over Alberto Castillo and Michael Wright won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.

"Our guys played with a lot of composure unver pressure this afternoon," head coach Matt Coomer said. "Our No.1 doubles pair had to save a match point that would have clinched the doubles point for Hanover and then finshed it off with good, aggressive net play two points in a row.

Today, we were able to win all of hte 1st sets in singles and maintain momentum from the doubles point for the first time this season."

IU Southeast travels to Brescia University next Saturday.
