NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's tennis team narrowly lost to Oakland City 4-3 on Sunday.

The Grenadiers roared out of the gates to earn the doubles point as the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings of Brent Reynolds and Caleb Harris and Cade Burman and Connor Mason dropped just one game combined. Reynolds and Harris won 6-1 while Burman and Mason cruised 6-0.

In singles play, Oakland City took a 2-1 lead with wins at No. 3 and No. 5 singles. After dropping the first set 6-2, Caleb Harris battled back to win the second 6-3 before eventually falling 6-3 in the third set.

Brent Reynolds won his first set 6-2 but dropped the next two sets 6-3 and 7-5 to clinch the match for the Mighty Oaks.

Connor Mason won at No. 4 singles 6-3, 2-6 (10-7) and Noah Neuhauser won 6-3, 4-6 (10-6).

IU Southeast travels to IU East Saturday.
