RICHMOND, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's tennis team defeated Earlham 7-2 Friday before concluding River States Conference play with a 5-2 defeat of IU East on Saturday.
On Friday, the Grenadiers picked up points at the top two doubles positions as
Connor Mason and
Camden Jones won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and
Owen Law and
Miguel Sampaio cruised to an 8-0 win.
The Grenadiers were dominant in singles play.
Connor Mason won 6-2, 6-1,
Camden Jones won 6-3, 6-3.
Miguel Sampaio and
Eric Whitehouse each won 6-0. 6-0 and
Owen Law earned a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Against IU East, the Grenadiers earned the doubles point as
Keith Asplund and
Owen Law defeated Bryson Hale and Jace Wilkerson 6-0 and Sampaio and Whitehouse cruised to a 6-1 win.
The No. 3-6 singles players put together strong performances to secure the win for IU Southeast.
Owen Law defeated Wilkerson 6-2, 6-2 while
Miguel Sampaio won 6-0. 6-0 and
Keith Asplund picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Eric Whitehouse defeated Bryce Wennen 6-2, 6-1.
IU Southeast concludes the regular season at Saint Francis on Sunday at 2 p.m.
