NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast baseball's
Luca Sandrella has been named the River States Conference Freshman of the Year.
Sandrella, a freshman from Louisville, Ky., had a brilliant first year for the Grenadiers. He went 6-1 with a 3.62 ERA in 12 appearances, 11 of which were starts.
Sandrella threw one complete game, and in 54.2 innings, struck out 43 batters for IU Southeast, who earned the two seed in the RSC Tournament.
The 11 starts and six wins are both third in the RSC. The 54.2 innings pitched and 3.62 ERA are both fifth in the conference. His WHIP of 1.39 was eleventh.
