NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Eight IU Southeast baseball players were named to an RSC All-Conference Team.
Six Grenadiers were named to the All-Conference First Team: SP
Brendan Whalen, SP
Luca Sandrella, C
Logan Murphy, 1B
Hazel Martinez, 2B
Logan Beard, and OF
Nolan Bowser.
Brendan Whalen is 6-2 with a 3.26 ERA in 11 appearances (10 starts). He has struck out 36 batters in 58 innings.
Luca Sandrella is 6-1 with a 3.62 ERA in 12 appearances (11 starts). Sandrella has 43 strikeouts in 54.2 innings. He has one complete game this season.
Logan Murphy has played in 40 of the team's 44 games, hitting .282 with five home runs and 38 RBI. Murphy has 15 extra base hits (eight doubles, two triples, and five home runs) on the season. He has also thrown out 15 base stealers.
Hazel Martinez played in 37 games, hitting .372 with five home runs and 41 RBI. 20 of Martinez's 48 hits went for extra bases (14 doubles, five home runs, one triple).
Logan Beard played in 43 of the team's 44 games. Beard hit .362 with eight home runs and 53 RBI. 22 of his 54 hits were extra base hits (13 doubles, eight homers, one triple). He also drew 25 walks and was hit by 15 pitches, good for an on-base percentage of .487.
Nolan Bowser played 36 games playing in the corner outfield while also serving as the team's backup catcher. Bowser hit .379 with two home runs and 23 RBI. He had nine extra base hits (five doubles, two triples, two home runs). Bowser walked 37 times and was hit by eight pitches for a .556 on-base percentage, which is currently the second-best on-base percentage in a single season in program history.

Ethan Burdette and 3B
Preston Shelton earned All-RSC Third Team Honors.
Burdette played in 36 games, hitting .355 with 17 RBI. He had five doubles and a triple. Burdette also stole six bases and scored 26 runs.
Preston Shelton played in 42 games, hitting .338 with a home run and 38 RBI. Of his 52 hits, 14 went for extra bases (11 doubles, two triples, one home run). Shelton had six stolen bases and scored 33 runs.
