NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast's
Logan Beard has been named the River States Conference Player of the Year.
Beard, a senior from Goshen, Ky., had a marvelous season in his first year at IU Southeast. He hit .362 with eight home runs and 53 RBI for the Grenadiers, who earned the two seed in the RSC Tournament.
Beard had an on-base percentage of .487 and a slugging percentage of .624, good for an OPS of 1.111.
He had 54 hits, which was tied for fourth in the league. The 53 RBI were second in the RSC. Beard had 22 extra base hits (13 doubles, one triple, eight home runs), which in total was fifth in the league.
Beard was also named to the RSC All-Conference First Team as well as the RSC Gold Glove Team.
