OXFORD, Ohio – IU Southeast baseball made it two-for-two with RSC Player of the Week awards after officials announced Monday that IU Southeast junior Gabe Yonto is this week's RSC Baseball Player of the Week.
Yonto is coming off an incredible week at the plate. In five games, the junior outfielder from South Bend, Ind., batted .636, hit two grand slams, seven total hits, 15 RBIs, three stolen bases, and had an on-base percentage of .714.
Yonto hit a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning of IU Southeast's comeback win over Marian. Yonto's other grand slam came in game three of IU Southeast's series vs. Brescia this past weekend.
Monday's announcement is Yonto's first-career RSC Player of the Week honor. Yonto and IU Southeast will hit the road Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. game against Lindsey Wilson.
